The wide edge of the cup prevents bruising, but it's still worth removing the pumps from time to time and massaging your breasts. The pumps are quite heavy and they are made of hard material, and they can crack when dropped if and when they come off, I had to fix mine with super glue. This isn't really a shortcoming, but I've thought that you could, for example, tie a ribbon to the pumps to make sure, which goes loosely behind the neck, then you don't have to be careful of them all the time.
